A more thoughtful approach to fertility.
Functional fertility care for individuals and couples trying to conceive, preparing for IVF, or looking for a deeper understanding of their reproductive health.
Fertility is complex. Understanding it requires looking at the bigger picture.
Maybe you're just beginning to think about pregnancy. Maybe you've been trying for months or years. Or perhaps you're already navigating IUI or IVF and wondering whether there's more you should be considering.
Fertility can quickly become a maze of laboratory results, treatment protocols, supplements, conflicting recommendations, and endless information about what you should—or shouldn't—be doing.
Bluebird Functional Fertility offers a place to step back and look at the whole picture.
Drawing from reproductive medicine, functional medicine, integrative medicine, and Chinese medicine, we'll look closely at your history, the information you already have, and the factors that may be relevant to your individual fertility.
The goal isn't to do everything.
It's to understand what matters for you.
Wherever you are in the process, Bluebird provides individualized functional fertility care.
-
Looking more closely at health, nutrition, and fertility before trying to conceive.
-
Whether you've recently started trying or have been navigating infertility for some time..
-
Creating a thoughtful plan alongside the care you're receiving from your fertility clinic.
-
Making sense of testing, protocols, supplements, previous cycles, and the questions that arise along the way.
-
Especially when you have extensive records, previous unsuccessful treatment, or simply aren't sure what deserves attention next.
Experience matters.
I'm Debra Gerson, CFMP, L. Ac., Dipl OM, FABORM.
For more than 15 years, I've worked at the intersection of reproductive health, Chinese medicine, integrative medicine, and functional medicine.
I've helped women and couples navigate natural conception, infertility, IUI, IVF, and pregnancy; worked alongside reproductive endocrinologists and fertility clinics; founded and directed one of Colorado's largest integrative wellness centers; and experienced infertility and IVF myself.
That combination has shaped the way I approach fertility today: with curiosity, context, respect for conventional reproductive medicine, and a willingness to look deeper when it may be useful. Additional testing can provide valuable insight when it's chosen with a clear purpose and the results have the potential to meaningfully inform what comes next.
Functional fertility, thoughtfully practiced.
Functional testing can provide useful information when there's a reason to order it. It shouldn't be a checklist. We'll first look carefully at what you already know before deciding whether additional testing could be useful.
I test with purpose.
Fertility is reproductive—but reproductive health exists within the context of your overall health. We look beyond a single laboratory value or diagnosis while staying focused on what is actually relevant to fertility.
I look at the whole picture.
Bluebird isn't a replacement for your reproductive endocrinologist, OB/GYN, or other medical providers. Functional and integrative care should complement excellent reproductive medicine—not compete with it.
I work alongside your medical care.
Getting started is simple.
01 — Begin with a conversation
Have questions first? Schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation to see whether working together feels like a good fit.
02 — Take a comprehensive look
Your initial consultation includes advance review of your health and fertility history, laboratory results, treatment records, medications, supplements, and previous testing.
03 — Continue only if it's useful
Ongoing and maintenance care are available when you need continued support—without requiring a large, long-term fertility program.
You don't have to figure out every piece of this on your own.
Whether you're just beginning to think about fertility or already have years of testing and treatment behind you, sometimes the most useful next step is having an experienced practitioner look at the whole picture with you.
